Phase 1

Construction for Phase 1 began in July 2009. Since then significant progress has been made on the project.

FT Deraser Project Update

We are truly excited to inform the Sangh members that we continue to make good progress. Despite of bad weather and normal project related challenges , we have made managed to move forward in several areas. The FT Project Team is currently engaged in pushing forward Phase 2 of our project. We have also made good progress with the marble work.

Here are some details on the progress as of Jan 14 , 2011:

 

-          Concrete and Masonry work for Deraser and Main Building (Prayer Hall , Dining Hall) is 98% complete

-          All structural steel fabrication and installation 100% completed

-          Interior framing of Deraser is 85% completed.

-          Interior framing for Main Building (Prayer & Dining Hall) 90% completed

-          Deraser roofing 75% complete and Main Building roofing 85% completed

-          Deraser Windows 100% installed. All Sky Lights 100% complete. Main building Windows and store fronts 50% complete

-          Deraser water proofing 85% complete. Below Grade Water proofing for both building 100% complete

-          Main building elevator delivery and install 90% complete

-          All utilities related underground conduit work 96% completed and connected with main building

-          Deraser and Main Building HVAC duct work 90% complete and 60% of HVAC equipments have been delivered at site

-          Deraser and Main building Fire protection (Sprinkler system) 95% completed

-          Deraser and Main Building electrical work 60% completed

-          Plumbing 41% completed

 

Update on Marble work:

 

-          A total of 3 containers arrived at site having marble of the outer wall of Temple Building

-          The 4th Container is arrived in USA and waiting for Customs clearance

-          The 5th Container has left Jaipur , India

 

Marble work going on in India :

 

-          80 to 90% work of the Bhamti marble work is completed

-          Work of 4 main columns in the Rangmandap is done

-          Work on 6 Barshak for three main entrances of the Temple Building is done & shipped from India

-          About 60% of the work on Zarukha on outer wall is completed

General Details about Phase 1 are as follows:

Total Area of Phase 1: About 17,000 square feet
Derasar: Total area about 6,000 square feet

Ghabhara and Bhamati Area: Approx. 1,200 Sq. ft.
Ghabhara size: About 36’ x 11’

Basement: 23’ x 56’ (1288 square feet)

Wing of the Prayer Hall Building: Total area about 11,000 square feet

Upper Floor

Digambar Hall: 30’ x 25’ (750 square feet)
Sthanakwasi Hall: 29’ x 25’ (725 square feet)
Shrimad Rajchandra Hall: 29’ x 25’ (725 square feet)
Rest Rooms with Showers: 44’ x 28’ (1230 square feet)
Shoe/Coat Room: 360 square feet

Lower Floor

Kitchen with Dining Area: 52’ x 31’ (1612 square feet)
Kitchen Supply Room: 21’ x 25’ (525 square feet)
Rest Rooms 630 square feet
Utility Room: 740 square feet

In addition, there will be passageways, elevator, front stairs and rear stairs connecting the two floors

Major Milestones Achieved:

Site purchase December 2000
Final approval by all agencies for the full project October 2002
Bhoomi Pujan Ceremony May 2003
Shilanyas Ceremony June 2003
Parking lot (320 cars), water &sewer lines,  
And detention basin constructed October 2004
Township approval of Two Phase Plan March 2006
Phase 1 Construction Began
(includes part of Phase 2)
July 2009

 

Phase 1 Cost: $6.5MM

Since 2005, there has been significant inflation in the construction industry. The actual costs are expected to be higher. The extent of the increase will be established during the construction documents work. The final number will be established when the construction bids are received.
